New Balance Men's M1490 Running Shoe
CUSTOMER REVIEW
I picked these up to replace my Asics Cumulus 12's. When I initially tried them on (the1490v1's) I thought they felt stiff with not much in terms of cushioning, but convinced myself it was something that would break in over time. Not so much. I'm about 100% certain that I was just spoiled with the Cumulus. The Cumulus was heavier, but they were like running on pillows, and were much more forgiving. These 1490v1's aren't terrible, as of yet, but I wouldn't recommend them for any amount of distance running. Maybe for short runs like anything under 5 miles? I can say nothing bad about the shoes itself, but had I done proper research before purchase, I might have gone with something a little more built for cushioning and distance. I can't give low stars for the quality, but buyer beware that if you're currently using an Asics or Brooks shoe, these will not transition well (in my opinion).
