The other reviewers are correct in that these shoes run about a full size too large. I ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear in Cole Haans and needed yet another half size smaller. The real issue I had with these shoes is how long they are. They extended a couple inches beyond my toe. This seems to be a current trend, but I see no reason for shoes to be bigger than necessary as though they're some sort of clown shoes. I called Cole Haan and they told me the Madison style are not as long. I returned them, but the shoes seemed to be very well made as expected. They were unbelievably comfortable as well and the rubber sole that felt really stable.
