ASICS Men's Gel-Contend 2 Running Shoe

These are definitely one of the better looking pair of running shoes I have ever owned and it is also one of the most supportive / comfortable! (NOTE: I wear a regular size 10 for the most part, but occasionally I have to get the 4E extended width variation to accommodate - this is one of the pairs that I had to get the wide version.)
I'm not easily satisfied when it comes to shoe comfort. Even with my daily casual wear, I typically have to supplement most of the shoes I own with gel insoles and/or arch support of some sort. Running shoes not so much, but these even surpass expectation. The only other pair I have owned that compares to the immediate, "out-of-the-box" comfort as these ("ASICS Gel Contend 2") are my "ASICS Gel-Equation 7" running shoes, which actually rank #1 on my list of favorites - these being a close 2nd though.
They have a very soft feel to them and absorb shock exceptionally well. I feel support in all the right places, especially arch support. I also like that there is an extra piece of stronger material added to the mesh at the precise point that one's big toe ultimately wears through at the near tip of the shoes.
Very comfortable, good looking, and well-designed shoes. The only thing left to test is their durability, which I will update when I put a bit of mileage on them.
